Overview:
A young girl on a long and lonely voyage,
a beautiful stone house by the sea,
and a book of fiercely guarded recipes
Tucked away at the far end of Beirut’s Gemayzeh quarter,
Mayrig is a restaurant that adapts the popular classics of Armenian cuisine,
while generously borrowing from Lebanese and other Mediterranean influences,
in order to feast guests on a dazzling array of flavors.

Salads
Itch
Typical Armenian traditional dish. Considered as the Armenian Tabouleh.
It’s made of cooked tomatoes with berghol, olive oil, fresh parsley and lemon juice.
Haigagan salad
Armenian salad with dices of cucumber, tomatoes and onions mixed with spices and
fresh parsley served with olive oil and lemon juice.
Tabouleh
The traditional Tabouleh mix of parsley, diced tomato, diced onion, minced fresh mint,
lemon juice, olive oil and berghol.
Vospi salad
Red lentils salad. Aldente lentils mixed with coriander,
pomegranate molasses syrup topped with crispy fried bread
Sempougui salad
Grilled eggplant salad, grilled egg-plant mixed
with tomatoes onion parsley and lemon oil dressing.
Zeitoun salad
Green olive salad. Green olives with walnuts and tomatoes mixed in olive oil.

Hommos
The traditional Lebanese chickpeas dip
Hommos snoubar
Hommos topped with fried pine nuts.
Hommos Soujok
fusion of Lebanese and Armenian traditional recipes. Hommos topped with
shreds of crispy Soujok (Armenian spicy beef sausage).
Hommos Basterma
A fusion of Lebanese and Armenian traditional recipes. Hommos topped with
crispy tidbits of Basterma (Armenian smoked beef).
Missov Hommos
Hommos topped with our special recipe of minced beef.
Moutabal
More known as baba ghanouj, grilled eggplant and tahina sauce dip.
Mouhamara
Traditional controversial recipe, some say it is Armenian others say it is Aleppine.
We say it is delicious and can accompany any dish. It is a hot red pepper walnut
and olive oil dip.
Trchou
Heavenly pickles selection. Real rare pickles such as green sour almonds, green tomatoes,
and green sour prunes along with a cocktail of local vegetables.
Sarma
Stuffed Olive Oil Vine Leaves with a divine mixture of tomato,
rice and spice. Suitable for vegetarians.
Dolma
A selection of Olive Oil stuffed Eggplant, Zucchini, Red Pepper
and Onion stuffed with a divine mixture of tomato, rice and spice.
Vospov Keufteh
Our traditional grandma’s recipe of the yellow lentil kebbeh. Served with its
small tomatoes onion salad/dip to be savored on top of it.
Mayrig Keufteh
Potato Kebbe. Potatoes mixed with herbs and spices served with fried onions in oil.
Tchi-Keufteh
Raw meat kebbe mixed with our special combination of spices, served with Ghima
(Special recipe of ground meat, pine nuts, onions and spices).
Sempougui Keufteh
Semi-spheres of cold cooked kebbe stuffed with a delicious mix of marinated eggplant.
Teble
Delicious “steak-tartare”!! raw meat mix with mint and onions.
Madzounov Keufteh
Fried kebbe served on a bed of fresh yogurt mixed with mint.

Printsov Keufteh
Our grandma’s recipe of crispy golden rice kebbe stuffed with her secret cinnamon
spiced beef stuffing.

Fried vegetarian potato kebbe
Gdzou patates
Crispy fried potato dices tossed in a mixture of spices, herbs and garlic.
Sou Beureg
Speciality dish of the house. It’s a delicacy that used to be made
for special occasions due to its hard labor,since the Sou Beureg takes a full day work where
the dough is prepared, boiled then bake
El Beureg
Fried cheese dumplings. Filled with flavor, cheese, herbs, spices and black cumin.
Havgitov Basterma
If you like Basterma(Armenian smoked beef) and eggs, you’ll surely like it!
Grilled traditional Armenian bread with a thin fresh slice of Basterma topped with
a fried quail egg.
Soujok Fekhara
Full-flavored slices of marinated Soujok (Armenian sausage) with fresh tomatoes
all sizzling in a Terracotta pan.
Soujok Hats
Wood grilled soujouk wrapped in traditional markouk bread served with a refreshing
cold yogurt dip.
Makanek
Our own mouthwatering recipe of Makanek (Lebanese sausage) grilled on wood fire served
with a warm dip of pomegranate molasses syrup.
Main Dishes
Mante
The favorite of all, typical ancestral Armenian recipe of the delicious crispy baked
meat dumplings that are served with a hot tomato sauce and cold yogurt with garlic.
Spanakhov Mante
Same recipe of the Mante but the vegetarian way. We removed the beef and replaced
it with spinach for the muscles!!
Madzounov Kebab
Grilled kebab spheres topped with warm yogurt, fried Lebanese bread and pine nuts.
A way of Fattet Kebab.
Fishna Kebab
Our wood grilled kebab topped with delicatly picked wild sour cherries coulis
Khachkhach
Known by many in name but not in flavor!!! Our special Khachkhach is cooked according
a special recipe combining fresh ripe tomatoes with the adequate amount of onions
and spice grilled over fire the

The delicious simple typical kebab.
Ourfa Kebab
Very special elongated eggplant from our garden portioned in circles molded with
kebab grilled on wood fire then pan-cooked. Typical dish of the Ourfa region
in ancient Armenia. Allow more than fiftee
Tika Kebab
Many generations have done this secret marinade. Manouchag the grandmother was
the best in mastering this recipe of delicious veal brochettes grilled on wood fire.
Kemeyov Tika
Same as the Tika kebab but with the addition of the rarest oriental truffle to the marinade.
Havi Kebab
Grilled chicken brochettes served with grilled garlic bread and fried potatoes.

Original recipe of walnut, onions and spices stuffed into a thin layer of grilled kebbe.

Banirov Maamoul
Yummy hot Maamoul stuffed with a secret kind of cheese that melts down while you dig in!!!
Tastes great either with sugar syrup or with our delicious homemade jams.
Sare Bourma
Armenian style Pakhlava stuffed with a cinnamon walnut mix. Rolled in a butterfly shape
that was specific of Manouchag our grandmother.
Kaymakleh
Golden sun ripened apricots stuffed with fresh ashta served with sugar syrup.
A feast for both eyes and palate.
Engouizi Anouch
One of the rarest jams in the world! Fresh green walnuts picked before the shell hardens.
Cooked with a mix of spices and syrup. The sensation in the mouth is a blast.
Sempougui Anouch
Weird yet very true and tasty. Small eggplant jam with cinnamon and cloves.
Fishna Anouch
Rare wild sour cherries imported from Aleppo in early summer, cooked in a delicious stew.
Can accompany ice cream, Maamoul or simply on a grilled bread.
Varti Anouch
Summer Roses petals harvested on warm mornings and directly cooked to preserve
the perfume and aroma, creating a delightful Rose Petal Jam
Achtalieh
Appetizing Milk pudding with a layer of cookies crumbs topped with fresh ashta
and garnished with pistachios.
Ice Cream or Sorbet
Our unique flavors and recipes of rustic ice cream and sorbet.
Meghle
Oriental familial spice pudding served in celebration whenever a child is born,
topped with shredded coconut, pine nuts, almonds, pistachio and walnuts.
Sultani Anoush
Special recipe ordered by the Sultan himself consisting of a milk pudding with
a ripe apricot coulis and fresh ashta, topped with pistachio.
